Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

What is the timetable for the project?
Phase I Construction began in late 2005 and is anticipated to take approximately 14 months to complete the sanctuary, classrooms and office space. Phase II construction will then begin on the Rock Body Athletic Training Center in 2008.
How much will it cost?
Phase I will cost an estimated $40 million. Phase II is currently estimated at $8-10 million.
How will the project be funded?
The project will be funded through a combination of cash donations and bank financing.
Why do we believe that it is God's will for us to use debt for this project?
We believe that God is leading us to this property, and we are diligently seeking safety in our decisions through a "multitude of counselors" (Proverbs 11:14).

We view the debt we incur for this project the same as we view home mortgage debt. When buying a house, you find a property that suits your needs, make sure that the financial burden is not more than you can comfortably bear, and then use a combination of your money and "the bank's money" to make the purchase. Essentially, we are going through the same process for our church home.

We have consulted with a number of outside advisors who believe that this project is financially feasible based on an analysis of the property and our current church size, growth, and demographics.

We will continue to seek wise counsel from many advisors as we face tough decisions. Most importantly, we will continue to be diligent in following God's leading as He opens or closes doors along this walk of faith.
How do I determine how God wants me to participate?
We encourage you to prayerfully and actively seek God with all your heart to determine what He wants to do through you during this campaign. When He answers, commit to trusting and obeying Him, then follow through on that commitment. God wants to bless us through our giving and our participation in building His house. Don't miss the opportunity!
How can I give financially to np3?
There are many ways you can give to np3. You can make a cash gift, a monthly pledge or give stock, real estate, or other assets.
How does my pledge affect my regular tithe?
The pledges made for this campaign are an offering above your normal giving. Tithes are allocated for the day-to-day operations of the church. Offerings are gifts over and above our tithes.
What if my financial situation changes and I cannot honor my commitment?
Your pledge and commitment to this project, as it is for all of us, is a walk of faith. Your financial situation may change - for better or worse but your commitment is between you and God. Prayerfully consider your commitment and trust God for the results.
When do I make my pledge?
You may make your pledge anytime online at www.rocknp3.org, or by calling our Stewardship Manager at the church office, 619.226.7625 x285.
How will this fundraising campaign help me grow spiritually?
As you diligently seek God's direction, what He does in you will be more important than what He does through you. God will do a mighty work in the people of The Rock Church through this campaign and the building of our church home. When our faith intersects with God's faithfulness, He shows up in unmistakable ways. It will be exciting to see!
